And Jeremiah the prophet said to the prophet Hananiah, “Listen, Hananiah, the Lord has not sent you, and you have made this people trust in a lie. Therefore thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I will remove you from the face of the earth. This year you shall die, because you have uttered rebellion against the Lord.’” In that same year, in the seventh month, the prophet Hananiah died. Jeremiah 28:15-17
Why do people have to invent their own stories when they can tell the greatest story ever told - the Gospel of the LORD Jesus Christ. Why do prophets have to invent things to appease the ears of his listeners when lies won't solve their problems, it will simply complicate them. The world needs people who can see the truth, hear the truth, and communicate the truth. The world is overflowing with men pleasers, it need messengers whose only passion is to please the Lord. If we stop taking time to be with God, we will run out of message to declare to people. When we are close to God, relaying what God tells us simply becomes an overflow. When messengers drift away from God, there now is this temptation in creating or fabricating their own messages and declaring it as God's. People entrusted to speak the words of God will be accountable with those words. May we speak only His words and not ours. May we be diligent to study and divide the word of truth and not invent stories of our own. 5 November 2018
