The Soul who Sins shall Die.

Eze 18:21-22 ESV  “But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. None of the transgressions that he has committed shall be remembered against him; for the righteousness that he has done, he shall live.

The passage talks about judgment upon the people of God and in the course of the passages God says the soul who sins shall die. Fathers won't be responsible for the sins of his sons nor sons will be held responsible for the sins of his father. Each one will be held accountable for his own life. What is great about the justice of God is His grace. It says here that if a wicked person turns away from all his sins and keeps all His statutes and does what is right and just, he shall surely live, he shall not die. Does it mean he lived a perfect life, no. Does it mean he lived a perfect life after turning away from his sins, n

o. It does say that he now keeps all the statues and does what is just and right. His transgressions won't be counted against him. You and I can not pay for all the sins that we have in the past, but someone already had. What we can do is to repent, turn away from sin and turn to God, receive and accept the finished work of Christ on the cross on our behalf. There is forgiveness and new life available in God through Christ. 5 Oct 2020
