As soon as Solomon finished his prayer, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the LORD filled the temple. And the priests could not enter the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD filled the LORD's house. 2 Chron 7:1-2 ESV
Solomon prayed and dedicated the temple to the Lord and after he finished praying, Fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices. What happened was indicative of God accepting what they have offered and dedicated. When the glory of the Lord came down, not even the priest could not enter the house of the Lord. Why? Because the glory of the Lord filled the LORD’s house. May you and I learn from this. There are moments in collective gathering that God manifests His glory. And when moments such as those happen, they don’t happen everyday. I mean sometimes thse are once in a lifetime moments bu when they do, even the priest could not perform their duties nor could they enter the house of the Lord. During “these” moments, priest are not expected to do their duties. Even in todays time, when God comes and manifests His glory, and he is ministering to people and He is glorified among the people, we, God’s royal priesthood may find ourselves incapable of doing our tasks and just revere him completely. Moments like these that all the people bow down to the ground and worship the Lord, when all attention of people are on God in worship and adoration, there is not much that you and I can do. And may I add that the best thing we can do is get out of the way and let God move in the midst of his people. This is not the norm, these are your God moments and when he does it, I don’t think God minds when the priest could not perform their duties because He comes in glory. 5 May
