Enoch walked with God after he fathered Methuselah 300 years and had other sons and daughters. Thus all the days of Enoch were 365 years. Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him. Genesis 5:22-24 ESV
As we read through the account in Genesis 5, most people then lived 900 plus years. With regards to Enoch, his life on earth was limited to 365 years. But it was not the length of his life that matters, it was the quality of his life and relationship that matters. After he fathered Methuselah, he walked with God 300 years. Imagine walking with God all those years. It was like the life of Adam and Eve being continued in the life of Enoch. If it was literally walking with God, like that in the garden in the cool of the day; or figuratively speaking walking and being in step with God's plan and purpose for his life. Enoch made a choice that other people did not discover in his time. God can commune and walk with people, and Enoch made the most out of it. He lived the last 300 days of his life walking with God. It did not mean he stopped all his other relationships and priorities. He even had other sons and daughter during those times. Walking with God does not mean being isolated from the rest of humanity. It means while he was still on this earth, with all his relationships and responsibilities, he still prioritized walking and following God in his life. It is not how long we live, but how we spend the time God gave us in our relationship with Him and with others. Make it our goal to walk with God for all the remaining days/years of our lives. 2 January
