Truth be told

Have I then become your enemy by telling you the truth? Galatians 4:16 ESV

We all need a pat on the back. Sometimes we need more than that to shake us up when we need to be shaken. If you and I will succeed in life, we need to surround ourselves with people who can tell us the truth even when it hurts. We must be secure enough to surround ourselves with people who can speak the truth in love. Not in hate, nor in retaliation, nor in insubordination, nor in arrogance, nor in anger, nor in immaturity... speak the truth in love. That is the only way to say it. You and i may say the truth, but if spoken the wrong may will still be received negatively.

There are some who prided themselves to be able to make a stand. Why? is being right more important than forgiveness? Is being right more important than relationships? Why did Jesus remain silent sometimes, and why did he speak when needed? Wisdom and maturity will help us determine which is which. Paul was always willing to speak the truth. But he always speaks it in love. Ask yourself this question? Am i speaking the truth in love? (if the answer is yes, try this next question... does the people around me perceive me or see me as one speaking the truth in love? Or just speaking what i believe to be the truth, without consideration of grace, mercy, tact, dignity). 16 December
