Trusting God when i don't understand

Writer's picture: Michael CustodioMichael Custodio

Though he slay me, I will hope in him; yet I will argue my ways to his face. Job 13:15 ESV

Job in his frustration was going at it with his friends. They were putting condemnations to his situation while Job on the other hand is struggling with self righteousness. Isn't it the case with some people in the current generation. Not knowing how to balance positional holiness and living holy for God. Indeed holiness is never gained on our merits, it is placed upon us when we receive and believe Jesus. He forgives our sins, and placed in us the righteousness of Christ. That said, we can never more holy that we are right now. But we can continue to live a life of holiness because we are no longer living in darkness. Striking the balance does not require our perfection but God does not tolerate nor will condone sin in our lives as well. Even though holy and forgiven, we continue to confess our sins to God so He can forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Now back to the verse, we may say that Job in his frustration is now thinking what was happening was God's idea. But he still puts his hope in God. Believe me, there will be times in our lives that we might and will not understand things that are happening around us. But we must keep hoping in God. 30 May
