Troubles and calamities

You who have made me see many troubles and calamities will revive me again; from the depths of the earth you will bring me up again. Psa 71:20 ESV

Plainly said, no sugar coating in these statements: You who have made me see many troubles and calamities will revive me again. Troubles and calamities are part of the life we will live. Nobody is exempted from it. I am not saying life will always be about troubles and calamities, what I am saying is that even the best of us, even the ones after God’s own heart are not exempted from them. That is why it is wrong to promise to a person being introduced to the Gospel that they will be spared from troubles and calamities. We are giving them false hope that God never promised. The real root of the problem of humanity is sin. And the solution for it is faith in the finished work of Christ, not the promise of a trouble free and calamity free life. Please don't get me wrong, i am not saying God does not care about the troubles and calamities we face, in fact, He is indeed concern, He is now our heavenly Father and He cares for us. We will face troubles and calamities, but as a child of God, we don’t have to face it alone. We don’t have to find our own solution. We don’t have to fix it ourselves. We have a God who cares for us. 30 June
