Tool or deadly weapon

Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. Jeremiah 33:3 ESV

In the age where communication is determined by speed: fast internet, emails, video calls anywhere in the world, internet and wifi even while flying on a plane, people have access to communicate with those that they love. But the problem is, instead of building relationship with people that they love, social media and the internet have become almost an addiction for some people. Instead of keeping in touch with family and love ones, it becomes a barometer of someone's worth or popularity. When young people don't have the number of likes in their post nor the number of shares in their social media posts, it depresses them. What was a great tool to keep in touch had become a monster that keeps people lonely instead. So how can i keep it back to the basics? Well, for one keep tract of time you and i spend online. Is social media becoming a master that keeps us scrolling our hands and fingers even when we are looking for nothing? To balance things out: if your job is based on online marketing, by all means keep using social media. If you are a free lancer that makes a living from clients through your email based clientele, do not stop. But limit your time on social media and build real relationships; starting with the most important one: Your relationship with God. Call to Him in prayer. Set aside time to commune with God. Read His words and hear from Him. Receive fresh insights and revelations from God. Find direction from his words. Realize your value and worth based from how God values you and not how social media approves of your looks, clothes, etc.. Spend time with God, it's worth the investment. Spend time with your spouse. Date him or her. Take your kids out. Talk to family. Build and invest more on these relationships. The real relationships. 6 November
