Yet the Lord warned Israel and Judah by every prophet and every seer, saying, “Turn from your evil ways and keep my commandments and my statutes, in accordance with all the Law that I commanded your fathers, and that I sent to you by my servants the prophets.” 2 Kings 17:13 ESV
Here we can find the Lord warning both Israel and Judah by every prophet and every seer. They were being told to repent, to turn from their evil ways and keep the commandments of God through His servants, but they would not listen. If we keep on reading the books of kings we will find that after the kingdom was divided in two, Israel failed to have a king after God's heart. Good thing in the land of Judah, there were times of reform when a king will do what was pleasing in the eyes of the Lord.
It is my prayer that when God gives us an opportunity to lead and make a difference, we will use it to do the right thing and bring people closer to God and not to rebel from God and his laws. 20 April
