You shall stone him to death with stones, because he sought to draw you away from the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. Deuteronomy 13:10 ESV
God was so strong in how to deal with people leading other people away from the LORD. The penalty was stone such person to death. He was so strict with it. For those sinning, He wants them to bring a sacrifice and set their hearts right with God. But to the people who entices people, whether relative or friends, or acquaintances, leading people astray and away from God to worship anything other than God is something the Lord truly abhors. In application, we may not be nearing perfection or are a long shot away from perfection. It's okay, we are forgiven and we are a work in progress, but we must not be an instrument that bring people away from God nor draws them away from God. Such actions will be dealt with severely. In application, when you and i struggle with sin and temptation, ask the Lord for strength to overcome. forgiveness when we falter and commit sin, but do not drag people in the same sin. In living the Christian life, let us bring people close to God not away from God. Wise is the man that snatches people from the fires of hell. Let us be an instrument that pull people from darkness and not push them to darkness. 25 February
