“Yet your people say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just,’ when it is their own way that is not just. When the righteous turns from his righteousness and does injustice, he shall die for it. And when the wicked turns from his wickedness and does what is just and right, he shall live by this. Ezekiel 33:17-19 ESV
If we will simply trust our own decisions, we are headed for destruction. We call unfair what God calls fair. We want justice when God displays mercy, and we want mercy when God is executing justice. We can cry out justice and punishment if the recipient will be other people or other nations. But if we will be at the receiving end of the stick we want mercy. How can people dare say the "way of the LORD is not just". When it does not suit them, God is not just. When it suits them God is good? God has always been just. God has always been good. God has always been merciful. God is the same yesterday, today and forever and by reading his words we will understand more of Him. He is not unpredictable. in fact, we can already know from Scriptures what His thoughts on the matter is. Even when we are praying and asking. All the promises of God are already yes in Christ. If we know the promises, we already know the response is yes. If we pray according to his will he hears us. Only those who do not know God accuse him of being unfair. Make every effort to know God more - not just intellectually but personally, by experiential knowledge. and you will say - He is indeed just, He is indeed good. The more we know God, the more we stand in awe of Him. 20 Nov
