Speak up!

If you remain, then return to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon appointed governor of the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people. Or go wherever you think it right to go.” So the captain of the guard gave him an allowance of food and a present, and let him go. Jeremiah 40:5

In the time when nations were colonized by Babylon and Nebuchadnezzar, people all over the world dread him. The doomed prophesied to the nation of Israel and Judah had been unfolding before their very eyes. The people who assumed Jeremiah to be a prophet of doomed now realized he was speaking the truth. And even in the midst of being under the toughest ruler in their time. Jeremiah found protection from God.

When everybody was fearing for their lives, Jeremiah found favor from the king. He can choose where he want to stay, and his provisions would even come from the ones everybody dreaded. The source of terror for the rest of the people became the avenue of provision God used to provide for the needs of Jeremiah. Why? because when others choose the popular, Jeremiah spoke what God called him to speak. No matter how many oppose him. 8 November 2018
