Speak the truth in love.

Then Zophar the Naamathite answered and said: “Therefore my thoughts answer me, because of my haste within me. Job 20:1-2 ESV

Zophar, like the rest of Job’s friends keep speaking what is in their hearts to Job, even when they are wrong. Does the Bible commend them for saying so? Does the Bible condemn them for doing so? Then why write it down? Because that shows the character of God. He tells it as it is. He does not sugar coat it, Neither does He hide it. He plainly tell it as it is. Even when the friends of Job were wrong, they were given the words to speak. They had their chance. At least they were there to speak to Job, even when they were wrong. Too many times when we get in trouble friends leave us. Hopefully those who stay with us speak the truth to us in love. Not in condemnation but in love and compassion. May we do the same to people we call friends. 1 June
