Soul who sins shall die

Writer's picture: Michael CustodioMichael Custodio

Behold, all souls are mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is mine: the soul who sins shall die. Ezekiel 18:4

When God says the soul who sins shall die, He tried to make sure that His listeners get it right. The father does not have to pay for the sins of his sons. Nor does the children need to pay nor suffer for the sins of their fathers, the the soul who sins shall die. He also made clarifications that if a sinner comes to his senses and repents. Then changes his ways and turn from his evil ways, he will be forgiven and live. On the other hand, if a person who used to do the right thing turns his back on God and thus lived the rest of his life in sin, that person who indeed reap the consequences. God made it clear that He does not want people to suffer but to come to repent. He wants people to be able to live for him. Whether they did all the days of their lives, or even when they just came to realize their sins and mistakes and take a U-turn in their ways and eventually follow God, He will forgive them. 16 November 2018
