While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.” Genesis 8:22 ESV
The eternal principle of cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, seed-time and harvest shall never cease. As long as there is seed-time, there will always be harvest. It is a timeless cycle that will never be broken, firmly established by God, declared unto men. Some people, even Christians still don't get it. They want a harvest without first sowing seeds. Instead of applying the principle of seed-time and harvest, all they try is "ask and you shall receive". The latter should not contradict the former. Both Scriptures are true and they should not be in contradiction with one another. Why do we try to complicate things when God made them simple. If our theology is clear, we can clearly make decisions. Giving not only shows our acknowledgement that God is the source of all we have, it also shows that we fully trust Him to provide all that we will ever need. With regards to tithes and offering, we will try to discuss that some other time. For today, let us just be established with the fact that harvest always follows seed-time. 3 January
