Brothers,if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Galatians 6:1 ESV
The statement says if anyone is caught in any transgression, the goal is to restore him gently. This does not condone the sin. It deals with the ones involved with the spirit of gentleness. Our goal is not just to discipline nor punish, our end goal must be restoration. To help the individual by grace in Jesus Christ to be brought back to a place of usefulness in the kingdom of God. The warning to the one helping an erring brother is to be careful not to fall in the same temptation. Do not look down nor be judgmental with people who are trying to get up. The time for blame is not now. Sin and temptation is deceitful that's why some fall into it's trap. Some gets deceived like Eve, some in their understanding still rebel and choose to run their lives instead of allowing God lead them in paths of righteousness. We are not in the business of counting how many Christians fall. It is not for us to police not keep records of the number of people that failed in their Christian life, it is our responsibility if we consider ourselves spiritual, to help people get back on their feet in their relationship with God. 17 December
