Interesting the ESV English Standard Version used reasonableness when the NIV New International Version used gentleness. For that is what gentleness actually mean - being reasonable. To be gentle is not to be week. It is strength under control. It is not attacking as well. It is being reasonable. To be reasonable means you use reason and understanding in your conversation. It has nothing to do with manipulative tactics. it has nothing to do with guilt trips. It has nothing to do with divisive means (intentional or not). To be reasonable is to be reasonable. You listen with the intention of trying to understand, you don't listen to re butt, you listen so you can understand what the other person is saying. It is not having an attitude of delusion of persecution, that everybody is against me and i have to defend and put my guard all the time because the entire universe had conspired against me. The world is so full of harsh people. We don't need more of them in the body of Christ. Try o show more gentleness. Be a reasonable person 20 December
