So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was pitch darkness in all the land of Egypt three days. They did not see one another, nor did anyone rise from his place for three days, but all the people of Israel had light where they lived. Exodus 10:22-23
Even if the other miracles were hard to believe and accept, this one is off the charts, imagine darkness that can be felt for three days. No one can see one another for three days. You can hear the people in front of you but you can’t see them. You can touch and feel the things around you but you can not see a thing. The thought was very frightening. A fear and feeling of asking what if this will not go back to normal. Am I forever not going to see anything again? When the entire population of Egypt was filled with fear of total darkness, things were as normal as ever for the Israelite. Think about it, because of the promise of God, because of His covenant with one man, while the rest of the world are filled with fear, to the people of God or the people that belong to God, things are normal as ever. Truly He is a gracious God. 20 January
