For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for[f]you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 1 Corinthians 11:23-24 ESV
Something noteworthy about this passage is that Paul, adamantly saying what he received from the LORD, was delivering it to them. But think about it, during the last supper, he was not even there. The people in that supper consist of Jesus, and the original twelve apostles. Paul was not there. He was still in opposition to the Gospel and Christianity that time. Yet he has this absolute resolve that he can stand on the words of Christ as if he was actually present.
May it be a lesson for us all. We may not be there when the events of the Bible, whether Old nor New Testament were happening nor unfolding. But by holding on to Scriptures, we can hold on the passages of the Bible as for dear life. We can hold on to it even if our very life is at stake. Not only that, what we have received from God must not end with us, we must; like the apostle Paul, be able to pass it on to other men. Don't let the words of God end in us. We must believe the word, hold dearly on to it, and pass it on to people that needs to hear the same. 13 December
