Then Joseph settled his father and his brothers and gave them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses, as Pharaoh had commanded. And Joseph provided his father, his brothers, and all his father's household with food, according to the number of their dependents. Genesis 47:11-12 ESV
The life of Joseph is such an inspiration, not just because of the financial success and prosperity he has amassed along the way, but the development of his character. Here he gave his father and his brothers possessions in the land, the best there is. Given tha same circumstances with other people, it could have broke them. As the saying goes, these seasons either make you or break you. For Joseph, it made him who he has. He trusted in God and the Lord grant him success in everything. He never imagine of getting even, he never imagine getting back. He just gave back. He blessed his brothers, he provided for his brothers, his father and his father's entire household. Though his brothers already have jobs as shepherds, he still provide for them. He did not see it as a burden. He did not see them as parasites. He just genuinely wants to share from the overflow of his prosperity. True generosity will simply overflow from people. May you and i continue to be blessed to be a blessing to others. 16 January
