And David said, “As the Lord lives, the Lord will strike him, or his day will come to die, or he will go down into battle and perish. The Lord forbid that I should put out my hand against the Lord's anointed. But take now the spear that is at his head and the jar of water, and let us go.” 1 Samuel 26:10-11 ESV

Here was Saul, all at the mercy of David. Ready to be executed. The assistant of David volunteering to strike Saul himself as not to soil the hands of David with the blood of Saul, and yet, David did not consented. Was he too naive for the fact that Saul will not stop until he is killed. Was he too concern for Jonathan his friend he did not want to kill the father. But the heart of David was revealed through these words. The Lord will strike him, or his day will come to die, or he will go down into the battle and perish. Either Saul will die in the hands of the Lord, because of his wickedness. Either Saul will die in the hands of his enemies, Either that, or through whatever means, but for sure Saul will die. It will eventually happen but it will not happen in the hands of David.

You and I will not be liked by everybody. There might even be people who wants us to fail. There might even be people who really don't want us to succeed because of envy, jealousy, or simply because they allowed themselves to be used of the enemy. Keep our hearts from anger and bitterness. 29 March
