"even as the testimony about Christ was confirmed among you— so that you are not lacking in any gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 1 Corinthians :6-7 ESV
The church in Corinth was not lacking in any gifts, yet they were still being corrected by Paul in his letter to them. Issues on division, issues on immorality, issues on being single or being married, taking a brother to court, issues on food, lacking in love. All these issues inside the church yet they lack no spiritual gift. They are not a perfect church, no church is perfect, but they were authentic. They were real. They are not perfect people, they are forgiven people. In our present generation, if we will desire to be used of God, perfection is not a pre-requisite to being used by God in the gifts. Do not get me wrong as well, i'm not saying live a compromising life and God will still use you in the gifts. That's twisting my words. A church, who is still in the process of growing, even with immaturity and things that needs working on and guidance, and even discipline can still be used of God and lack no spiritual gift, if they will desire to be used of God in it.
At the same time, it is not an excuse for the church, the body of Christ not to obey God nor exert effort to live a life pleasing before God. 11 December
