And the king also said, ‘Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, who has granted someone to sit on my throne this day, my own eyes seeing it.’” Then all the guests of Adonijah trembled and rose, and each went his own way. 1 Kings 1:48-49 ESV

Things born in rebellion are doomed for destruction. Here the kingdom of Adonijah did not even lasted for a day. Even when the people were still at the point of their celebration, they trembled when they realized there is a true king in Israel. One whose kingdom was not grabbed. One who was ordained and approved God. When they heard that David crowned Solomon king, the guests of Adonijah went their own ways and went to their respective homes. His rebellion did not even lasted a day. He did not even have the privilege of enjoying the end of the festivities. Everything was cut short. There is a proper of achieving things. There is a proper way of getting promoted. Preparing ourselves and waiting on God’s timing is essential. We must never start something in rebellion, for it almost doomed to destruction, unless we repent in the process. 8 April
