“How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low! You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ Isaiah 14:12-14 ESV
It is said that pride and sin have something in common, in the middle of both is "i". And that's very sensible, both pride and sin have man at the center. When people begin to think that the world basically revolves around them, pride will begin to manifest. Then comes insecurity, delusion of persecution, delusion of grandeur, and the likes will follow. Sin is basically described in the Bible as missing the mark. How can we hit the mark if we are aiming at the wrong target? When man becomes the ultimate master of his life, he will not hit the bulls-eye because he's aiming at the wrong target. Man's goals are different from God's. Man's plans are different from God's. And when like Lucifer, man thinks he can take the glory, share the glory, borrow the glory, or steal the glory, the same fate awaits him - destruction and a great fall. 21Oct 2018
