Life won't wait for you to move on.

And they went away in the boat to a desolate place by themselves. Now many saw them going and recognized them, and they ran there on foot from all the towns and got there ahead of them. Mark 6:32-33 ESV

The needs of men will not wait for us to have moved on. People around us will have needs and will continue to do so whether we are ready to act on them or not. Life will not pause nor wait for us to have moved on. Life will move on whether you and I are ready to move on with it. The story behind these passages talked about the beheading and the death of John the Baptist. The voice of one calling in the dessert, the Elijah who was to come had just been beheaded. And Jesus told his disciple to come away with Him to a solitary place to rest. When people saw them, the crowd arrived before they reached their destination. The initial intention was to rest. Mourn John the Baptist, refresh themselves, gather their wits, take some time off so they can move on. But the needs of men did not wait for them. Same thing is true today. Each of us deals and face what life throws at us. A loss of a family member. A family tragedy, a financial setback, these things will not wait for us to be ready to move on. Sometimes, we have to face these facts and pluck up the courage to move on in life. Too many lives are at stake if we pause and stop for too long. May God give us the grace to move forward in life even in the midst of life’s tragedy. 28 October 2019
