And a highway shall be there, and it shall be called the Way of Holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it. It shall belong to those who walk on the way; even if they are fools, they shall not go astray. Isaiah 35:8 ESV
A highway shall be there, and it shall be called the Way of Holiness. Something particular about the prophets of old, they don't mince words. They are not busy trying to be politically correct, they will say what needs to be said, no matter who gets offended. Don't get me wrong - they are not obnoxious that goes out trying to offend anyone and everyone. They are simply too committed to telling the truth, they will do so even if it will hurt other people. They are not trying to sugar coat the words of God, they will tell it as it is. Here, the unclean will not pass over the way of holiness. Holiness is something God expects from his people. Let me clarify that, holiness not perfection, for no one can attain perfection in this life except Jesus alone, but holiness can be achieved through the blood of Jesus. Holiness is part of the finished work of Christ on the cross bestowed to people who repents and acknowledge their need of forgiveness and a saviour. Indeed we had been made holy because of the righteousness of Christ, it won't hurt also to live that life that God has already made us to be. We can not continue to walk in darkness after we had been brought to the light. May God graciously keep us from sinning and may we continue to live in the holiness that comes from God. 17 August
