Far be it from me to say that you are right; till I die I will not put away my integrity from me. Job 27:5 ESV
Job here was found saying that as long as he lives, he will not put away his integrity. Even when people had been falsely accusing him, he will still hold on to God and his integrity. He was not claiming perfection as a man, neither will he throw away his confidence in God. This same confidence can be placed by all of us. Not that we are perfect, but because we are forgiven and had been made righteous by God. Our confidence is not in our righteousness but in God’s. Many times when people hear our confidence in God's forgiveness, they think it is arrogance for us to claim certainty of heaven, little do they know that our confidence rests upon God's finished work and not on our own righteousness. 4 June
