You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ Isa 14:13-14 ESV
The moment Lucifer wanted the place of God that's when he corrupted himself. We need to understand our place in life. God is God and his being God can not be shared with other being except His persons in the trinity. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Anybody or anything that will aspire to be God is doomed like the devil. When Lucifer started declaring his I will's... ascend to heaven, set my throne, sit on the mount of assembly, ascend above the height of the clouds, make myself like the Most high... he lost his place in heaven and eventually earned for himself a place in eternal punishment.
People and even Christians can be tempted to exert their wills other than that of God. As his sons, servants, children, we aspire to know and fulfill the will of God in our lives not our own. If left to our own wills, we will go astray, but trusting the will of God and plans of God and the voice of God will lead us to paths of life and not destruction. 12 August
