God's plan.

His father and mother did not know that it was from the LORD, for he was seeking an opportunity against the Philistines. At that time the Philistines ruled over Israel. Judges 14:4 ESV

There are situations in life that we may not know is from the Lord. There are situations in our lives that even those closest to us might not understand. Here the parents of Samson did not know that this decision of him was from the Lord. His decision to get one of the daughters of the Philistines as his wife. Though the situation might bring pain in the life of Samson. Well for one, he was supposed to be enjoying his wedding, but instead, he was in constant pressure from his wife to give the answer to the riddle. Instead of the family enjoying their guests, the guests threatens to burn the house of the wife of Samson and his father in law because they were about to lose the wager. Instead of just celebrating, Samson had to kill 30 men and get their clothes in order to pay for the bet (riddle) that he lost to. His new found wife was given to his companion or one of the best man in the wedding. These were just the beginnings of the woes of Samson. Of course, Samson has his participation. The getting of the wife was from the Lord. Do you think the wager or the bet for 30 sets of clothes was from God? Do you think everything that Samson did was from God. Samson made his choices every day. We can not blame God for the wrong decisions that we make. We can not blame others for the wrong choices we make. In the first place nobody forced us to make those choices. But the great thing about God. When we yield to his plans for us, no painful experience that you and have will even be wasted. He might have permitted those things to happen because our hearts and our minds were unyielding or hardheaded but the lessons from those experiences can still be used for his plans. He can still turn things the right way when we chose to go back to him and yield out lives into his plans and purposes. 16 March
