And God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant on earth, and to keep alive for you many survivors. So it was not you who sent me here, but God. He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house and ruler over all the land of Egypt. Genesis 45:7-8 ESV
When we do not understand things that are happening in our lives, we may become dismayed or discouraged. But the moment we understand things in light of the big picture, our pain will vanish. Here Joseph said, it was not you who sent me here, but God. Knowing and understanding that God has a hand in the things that are happening is comforting. Even when things seems to be off track to our concept of a blessed life, God will forever remain sovereign. Instead of becoming bitter when things are tough, instead of blaming people, and circumstances, continue to seek God especially when we do not understand. Continue to believe that He is in control and that His purpose remains. May we not take our eyes off the big picture when our current situations seems far from what God has for us. And do not allow bitterness to eat us up. Learn to forgive, learn to move on, learn to trust God even in the darkest of time. 15 January
