So Solomon built the house and finished it. 1 Kings 6:14 ESV
Anybody can start a project, even without counting the cost, but that is a mark of a foolish builder. Everyone who sees what was started will say this man had started and was not able to finish. Thorough builders count the cost. They ask what are the materials needed, what are the skills set needed to finish the work, what manpower is required to put up the infrastructure. How many work force is necessary for the entire project. Will there be enough provisions for all the materials? Are the materials available locally or are we going to trade and purchase them. If so, how are they going to transport the materials? Will we be needing to transport them by lang or y sea? Do we have enough manpower? Can we pay the manpower or the skilled workers for the job at hand. All of these are necessary to finish the project. The same is true today. Wanting to do something is not enough. Knowing what to build is not enough. You need planning and execution for the project to be finished. Like I said, anybody can start, but not everybody finishes. Though it may demand more, and though planning and execution may not be our strongest point in our personal strength. We still need to acquire the skill or surround ourselves with advisers that will help us think and plan and execute. We don’t simply want to start, we want to finish what is started. 9 April
