Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who have an anxious heart, “Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.” Isaiah 35:3-4 ESV
When people admit they are weak, they find strength from all the right sources. For decades and centuries now, humans have mastered the art of putting on masks. They pretend that all is well and everything is just "fine." Any hint of weakness is being covered up, as if to be weak is not a human trait at all. On the contrary, none is farther from the truth. Only when we can admit that we are weak, can we acknowledge our need of God. The moment we admit our weaknesses, our fears, our limitations, that is the moment that God can come through on our behalf. Pretending we are not afraid won't remove our fears. Pretending we don't experience being anxious may look good in the eyes of others, but truth of the matter is... pretending about anything solves nothing. The humility it takes to admit we need help, will pave the way for our deliverance. Admit you are weak in an area of your life, so someone can come and help you. Your spouse or accountability partner can help you go through a struggle. When you struggle with pornography, ask your spiritual father/mentor for help and prayer. If you struggle with anger, ask God for grace and patience. Remember, it is when we are weak that God proves himself strong! 24 Oct 2018
