Moses' father-in-law said to him, “What you are doing is not good. You and the people with you will certainly wear yourselves out, for the thing is too heavy for you. You are not able to do it alone. Exodus 18:17-18 ESV
Leadership can never be done alone. Ministry can never be done alone. It will wear the leader out and it will frustrate the people. It does not matter how talented and good you are as a person. It will take its toll. Sacrificing to the point of spreading ones self too thin is detrimental for both the leader and the followers. Allow God to use us in finding, developing, and raising other leaders who will walk with us in leadership. Do not fall into the trap of trying to solve all problems in leadership. it will wear you out. If we think this is sacrifice for the work of God... we are wrong. This is lack of wisdom or lack of trust in the capabilities of others. May we be willing to share the load and the responsibility in ministry. It will be easier for us and it will empower others. In the process, we replicate ourselves in the life of others. 23 January
