So David reigned over all Israel, and he administered justice and equity to all his people. 1 Chron 18:14 ESV
When we read though Samuels, Kings, and Chronicles, rising and falling from power becomes as natural. At the time when Israel was divided into the northern and southern kingdom, Isarel and Judah respectively, there seemed to be no peace, always transition in power even when the ones leading have not yet established themselves. In the time of David he reigned over all Israel. The kingdom was united in their decision to follow the leadership of David. And he used the chance while he was in power to administer justice and equity. He used his power, authority, position for the greater good - to administer justice and equity. If people today can learn from David's leadership, many will make a positive influence in society. While David used the throne to administer justice, corrupt people in today's generation use position to amass wealth, plunder national treasures, ravage national resources, abuses position for personal gain, I am not saying they are all like that, there are people who lead properly while some abuse authority. May God continue to raise up right leaders in our nation. 29 April
