Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So may the gods do to me and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by this time tomorrow.” Then he was afraid, and he arose and ran for his life and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there. 1 Kings 19:1-3 ESV

If you will read chapter 18 of 1 Kings, you will find Elijah courageously defeating the prophets of Baal. He was so courageous and so zealous for the name of the Lord. The day after that He was running for his life because Jezebel took it personal. She vowed to put him to death that's why he was running for his life. Think with me for a moment. There are times we are fighting for God's cause and people around wonder where in the world did we get the courage for that particular scenario. On the other hand, there are some personal battles that you and I face that seems to suck out the courage that you and I have, keep trusting God, He will see us through. When we are fighting for God's cause, God will give us the courage to win the battle. Even when we are fighting our personal battles. The Lord will give us practical help and what is necessary to end up on the winning side. 14 April
