As soon as Asa heard these words, the prophecy of Azariah the son of Oded, he took courage and put away the detestable idols from all the land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities that he had taken in the hill country of Ephraim, and he repaired the altar of the LORD that was in front of the vestibule of the house of the LORD. 2 Chron 15:8 ESV
As soon as Asa heard the prophecy of Azariah, he acetd right away and put away all the detestable idols from all the land of Judah. He knew if we is to make a difference. He was to do it throughout the land. If he was to make a lasting impact he also had to do it in a larger scale. He can not simply try it in one place and tolerate it in another. He had to implement it throughout the place which he is in authority because the buck stops with him. He can make excuses while it is implemented in some areas and tolerated in others. He had to make sure that everybody knows he is serious about the matter. If we are to make a lasting difference, we have to be consistent in what we are doing and implementing. 8 May
