For the cloud of the Lord was on the tabernacle by day, and fire was in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel throughout all their journeys. Exodus 40:38 ESV
The cloud of the Lord and the fire of the Lord led the Israelites throughout the time. Amazing thing about the cloud and the fire was that it provided a sense of God's presence and protection upon their journey. The cloud in the morning protects them from the heat of the sun in the middle of extreme heat. The fire on the other hands protects them from the cold night in the middle of nowhere. Both demonstrate a portion of God's character. That He will not leave us on life's journey to reach the promise He gave us, and at the same time, protects us in the process. How about in our present lives. Do we have the intimacy of God's presence in our lives today. Do we encounter Him in the day and in the night? Does He leads us, not by the fire and cloud but by His words, do we know His leading and can we feel and actually know his provision and protection in the process of following His direction for our lives. The Israelites were still exposed to the elements, the cloud and the fire provided what they need to keep them going. Don't forget, we have a living relationship with God and He wants us to reach our destiny and inheritance in Him. May we be led by God continually. 30 January
