They read from the book, from the Law of God, clearly, and they gave the sense, so that the people understood the reading. Neh 8:8 ESV
Mike Murdock once said "use every speaking opportunity as a chance to improve your communication skills". Here, they did not just read from the Law of God, they read it clearly. Speaking in the language of the people is good. Speaking in the language of the people clearly is even better. We need to grow our selves in the way we communicate especially if the message we are transmitting carries in itself power over life and death. Here on top of reading, and reading clearly, they gave the sense of what what being read. Explaining Scriptures in a manner that the hearers will not mis-understand, will not mis-interpret nor lose he meaning along the way is a must in our generation. We need to be speaking, reading, communicating, explaining, the Scriptures clearly that those who hear, listen , read, will understand it full well, so they can respond positively to it. 21 May
