And proclamation was made throughout Judah and Jerusalem to bring in for the LORD the tax that Moses the servant of God laid on Israel in the wilderness. And all the princes and all the people rejoiced and brought their tax and dropped it into the chest until they had finished. 2 Chron 24:9-10 ESV
Leadership principle, people don't give in to a need, they buy into a vision. Here was a worthy cause. Not all people will rejoice with the idea of bringing your taxes into the treasury. Some people, even business people wriggle their way not to be able to pay full taxes. Some of their techniques may be legal, some of it might be crossing the line. That's not what we will talk about today. For this day, we will talk about people buying into a worthy cause. When something is worth doing, worth believing, worth fighting for, they will support it. They will put their money where there mouth is. That is one key while some leaders can rally a group of people who have their own needs, not even living in a life of surplus, but trusting God for their provisions to sacrificially give to a project. Why? because they caught the vision. Need can happen to anybody and everybody. But a worthy cause to invest in... there really are people who God will move and motivate to give, support, and sacrifice until something is done and finished. 11 May
