And they left their gods there, and David gave command, and they were burned. 1 Chron 14:12 ESV
Mostly idols were made of wood, stone, metal, gold, silver, gems.. but no matter what the composition of the gods of his enemies were. David won't have second thoughts of burning them. He won't be counting the cost. He won't say the gold in this idol is worth this amount of money, it can feed these amount of people. He won't feel bad to destroy and burn everything. while others can debate, why not melt everything, remove the dross and keep for ourselves the gold coming from these idols? Is not that being good stewards? Bottom line, David would not have these things taint his walk with God. That was unthinkable for David. These idols had led people astray, these idols have pulled the hearts of the people away from God, he will have to destroy them. What are the idols that are pulling us away from God? It's about time we burn them all. 28 April
