“Y
ou expected much, but see, it turned out to be little. What you brought home, I blew away. Why?” declares the Lord Almighty. “Because of my house, which remains a ruin, while each of you is busy with your own house. Haggai 1:9
I don't believe it upsets God when we start building our own houses, when we try to bring to reality things which used to only be part of our dreams alone. What upsets God is when we neglect his house when we are building ours. Fulfilling our dreams does not have to mean neglecting God's house. When God promotes us, when God is starting to elevate us to a point that we can build something for ourselves, it does not give us an excuse not to build God's house anymore. When we used to serve in ministry as volunteer while building our careers and God begins to promote us, God is.not intending that we sacrifice our relarionship with him and our ministry time to cope with the growing demands of our career promotions. Let us build God's house (may it be the literal or the spiritual one - body of Christ) while we build our own houses. Dec 5
