For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness. Psa 84:10 ESV
Ask people on random survey: if you will be given a two day fully expenses paid vacation, flights and accommodation included, where will you want to go? Some will go to Disney, Some will try Sentosa in Singapore or Universal Studios, Some will choose the resorts at Maldives, Some romantics would love to dine and sip coffee in Paris, Some adventurers will try the best rapids in the world, and the list goes on and on… Psalms 84:10 says better in one day in your courts that thousand elsewhere. Don’t get me wrong, putting some of the places listed above in your bucket list is not wrong nor sinful especially if you can afford it or somebody sponsored it. But after the adrenaline has slowed down, after the event is finished, after the experience, you still long for something. Well, at least if we went to these places with family and loved ones, we have created memories to remember but afterwards something is being sought by us. Only in the presence of God can we linger and fill complete. Only in the courts of God can we stay and fully be satisfied in his presence. For nothing will match nor will ever compare to the presence of God. 4 June
