WISE

Writer's picture: Michael CustodioMichael Custodio

Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. James 3:13 ESV

Who is the wise? Are they the brilliant orator? Are they the captain of the debate team? Are they the ones who have all the answers in class or in a group discussion. Are they characterized with loud personality? Taking personality traits out of the picture, the wise and the understanding had very little to do with what a person knows. It has much to do with how people conduct themselves. Thus, when analyzed, true wisdom and understanding must be translated to conduct and works of meekness. A wise man may not be loud. A wise man may not be the first to talk, sometimes, they will not even talk. But when called and asked... people listen to what they say because their conduct already gave them a platform. They have lived a life of respectful reputation that people what to be with them and listen to what they have to say. A lesson for us all: we do not need to be loud to be heard. Demonstrate wisdom by how we conduct our lives, by how we respect those around us, by how we empower those under our leadership, by how we respect people who are not even part of our team but part of the big picture. And when needed, speak. 28 December
