Then they shall be dismayed and ashamed because of Cush their hope and of Egypt their boast. Isa 20:5 ESV
These people who put their confidence in men and the terror they struck those around them will eventually be put to shame. Here because people placed their confidence in Egypt and in Cush they thought they are eternally secure. Because they were the existing powerhouse at that time, put their allegiance and confidence in them and not in God. A lesson from the wilderness, a lesson in the dessert, a lesson from forty years of receiving manna from heaven. Put your confidence alone ni God. Even when there is no water, He will provide. Even in the dessert, he provides daily bread. Egypt was overthrown through the leadership of an old man. Egyptian armies on horses were defeated by ordinary men, women, pregnant women, young and old simply passing the red sea at a very slow pace, while the armies pursuing them were riding for war riding their chariots and most elite army ready for war.
